Introduction to DCC

First Community College was started in 1995 in Ponduicherry and presently approximately 125 Community colleges are already running in our country and doing yeomen service to generate employment opportunities for youth of rural India. Now Indira Gandhi Open University has taken in onerous task to open approx 500 Community Colleges.

In the country and initially IGNOU has identified 100 existing institutes to play the role of  community colleges and Delhi Community College (DCC)  is one of them. Since DCC is the sister concern of Delhi Institute of Fire Engineering ,DIFE ( being run under the aegis of a NGO “ Defence officers Society for Fire prevention and Disaster Management”) ,is duly registered with Registrar of Cooperative Societies under Societies Registration Act XXI Of 1986. DIFE has created a niche for itself in the Field of fire and Industrial Safety and Security Management in a very short span of time. Both organizations are engaged in the same sectors of education and will be able to share each others resources and experiences to create a very strong foundation to facilitate quality Education for their students.

The DCC is easily accessible and is located in the vicinity of Asia’s biggest and largest sub city of Dwarka comprising of high-rise buildings some of them are under construction and provide a realistic training ground for the students for carrying out mock Fire Safety/Rescue drills. The DCC is having dedicated training team of professionals comprising of Defence Officers, Fire Scientists / Engineers and Fire Experts who boast of knowing Fire from "Womb to Tomb". 

Students of DCC are taught crystal clear Fire Technology concepts and they are exposed to the latest state of the art Fire Extinguishment Technologies and Equipment and finally their 'guts' are tested in live Fire Fighting in real life fire situations while working shoulder to shoulder with industrial organizations while doing ‘on the job training.’
